EUROSAI is a regional European INTOSAI group. At present, it gathers 49 Supreme Audit Institutions (SAIs).
The bodies of EUROSAI are the Congress, the Governing Board and the Secretariat.
The Congress, which is composed of all EUROSAI members, is the top body of EUROSAI. It is organised every three years.
Since the establishment of EUROSAI (1990), there have been six congresses organised:
- in Madrid in 1990 (EUROSAI establishing Congress),
- in Stockholm in 1993 (Changing Functions of the State and the Role of Audit with Special Emphasis on Privatization; Achieving Results for the Audit Office with Special Attention to the Selection of Audit Areas of Importance, the Presentation of the Audit to the Public and the Quality of Staff),
- in Prague in 1996 (The Audit of Privatisation; The Relations of SAIs with the Parliament, the Internal Audit, the Jurisdiction and the Media),
- in Paris in 1999 (The Independence of SAIs),
- in Moscow in 2002 (The SAI and the State Budget Execution Audit),
- in Bonn in 2005 (The Audit of Public Revenues)
- in Kraków in 2008 (Theme I: Establishing an Audit Quality Management System within a Supreme Audit Institution, Theme II: Audit of Social Programmes – Audit of Programmes in the Field of Education, Theme III: Audit of Social Programmes – Audit of Programmes for Professional Integration of the Disabled).
EUROSAI participates in both exchanging information related to external state audit and in developing international auditing standards. It also organises trainings for auditors.
Once a year, EUROSAI Magazine is published, and EUROSAI Newsletter is issued every quarter.
